Colorado Convention Center

The Colorado Music Hall of Fame’s exhibit is proudly located inside the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. This exhibit celebrates the artists, venues and moments that have shaped Colorado’s rich and diverse musical heritage.

Our relocation to downtown Denver reflects The Hall’s long-term vision to expand our exhibits and provide opportunities that deepen connections between music, history, and our community. Our current exhibit will serve as a “teaser” in the future for the much larger, upgraded, interactive exhibit we will be creating at the Colorado Convention Center in the near future.

In the meantime, the exhibit is free for convention participants to enjoy during Colorado Convention Center events and Bellco Theatre Performances–as well as through special Hall programming, such as Front Row & Center (see below), and Denver Arts & Venues public art tours.

Join us at The Hall’s exhibit at the Colorado Convention Center on Tuesday, October 6, from 4:30–6 p.m. for an intimate, live Q&A with Hall 2012 inductee Harry Tuft.

Harry Tuft is a pioneering figure in Colorado’s folk-music scene and the founder of the Denver Folklore Center, a nationally recognized hub for folk music, where artists including Judy Collins and Bob Dylan crossed paths and learned or performed. Tuft was also a concert promoter who brought many major folk and acoustic artists to Denver and helped launch Swallow Hill, another Colorado Music Hall of Fame inductee. A performer and musician himself, Tuft has played and recorded throughout his career and was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in the 2012 “Setting The Stage” induction class.

The conversation will be moderated by Patricia Calhoun, Hall board member and founder and editor emeritus of Westword. Harry will also treat us to a special live song or two. Enjoy happy hour with a cash bar and an evening of stories, music, and conversation with one of Colorado’s most beloved musical figures.

Parking: There are several parking options available near the Colorado Convention Center including paid garage parking ($13 for 8 hours), paid parking lots and metered street parking ($2 per hour). If you choose to park in the garage, it is located on the corner of Speer and Champa.

Lightrail: The Theatre District–Convention Center station is the light rail station closest to the Colorado Convention Center, located directly underneath the building on Stout Street. It is served by the D and H light rail lines and provides easy access from downtown. Please check the train schedule for wait times and alternate routes. 

Accessibility: The path from the entrance to our exhibit space is free of stairs and is accessible by wheelchair. That being said, it is a little bit of a long walk from the entrance so we will also have a people transport cart available if anyone needs a ride.

Beverages: There will be drinks and non-alcoholic options available for purchase via credit card. Cash tips for bartenders are welcome.
