George Morrison Sr. (1891 – 1974) was an international star during the 1920s Jazz Age and is one of Colorado’s most celebrated violinists and composers. His induction into Colorado Music Hall of Fame was held at a celebration at his namesake park in partnership with the Denver Parks Trust and Amazon, who have sponsored the restoration of the Park’s interpretive signs. This free public event was held on October 17th and included presentations by Denver City Councilmember Darrell Watson; Denver Mayor’s Office Senior Advisor for Strategic Partnership, Esther Lee Leach; Hall board member and On-Air Host of KUVO, Carlos Lando; and granddaughter of George Morrison, Sr., Vicki Morrison. Music was performed by the Denver South High School Jazz Band.
